Same scenario as above but this time in Preferences I have "Thin backups from hourly to daily to weekly" checked. The next night the backup no longer sees the TEST folder, what happens? What process if anything would ever prevent me from restoring that TEST folder a year from now? Then I delete the folder and empty the trash. I assume it was backed up once, then looked at 30 times and if anything changed inside it, those changes were backed up. I am trying to determine what, if anything, would remove a file from my backup archives and thus preventing it from be restored in the future.įor example, if I have a folder with files on my desktop, let's call it TEST, and this TEST folder is on my desktop for months and is backed up (my ARQ is set to run daily at 2am). If I do not check the box "Limit total size of backups to" I know budget does not run, but does "remove unreferenced objects every 30 days" still run?ĭoes unreferenced objects mean files no longer on the source client?
